GoSolo Verdict

The Oppo A7 Pro Max is a large, long-battery phone with an impressive AMOLED screen and solid 50MP cameras, but held back by an entry-level Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip that struggles with demanding apps and gaming. For under €280, it delivers day-to-day usability and durability, though faster processing rivals exist at the same price.

Strengths · 4

10,000 mAh battery should easily last two days of mixed use, and IP68/IP69K rating plus drop resistance to 1.8m makes it genuinely rugged for its class
6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh and 1800 nits peak brightness is a rare feature at this price—sharp text, vivid colours, and outdoor visibility stand out
50MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and PDAF handles low-light shots better than typical budget phones; 50MP selfie on ultrawide lens is practical for group shots
Reasonably thin at 8.6mm and light enough at 224g for a 10,000 mAh phone; all-day grip is comfortable

Trade-offs · 3

Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is entry-level—expect stuttering in demanding apps, heavy multitasking, and most 3D games; rivals at €280 offer mid-range chips with noticeably smoother day-to-day performance
1080p video cap is weak for 2026; even budget competitors now hit 4K or 4K 30fps as standard
No microSD slot and only USB 2.0 limit file transfers and storage flexibility compared to peers
