display

3500 nits peak, 120Hz LTPO AMOLEDThe 6.9-inch screen at 3500-nit peak brightness stays readable even in direct sunlight, and 120Hz refresh keeps scrolling smooth without draining battery faster than a fixed 60Hz would.

camera

200MP telephoto with 3.2-4.3x optical zoomThe periscope lens with continuous mechanical zoom lets you frame distant subjects (say, wildlife or far buildings) without losing sharpness the way digital zoom would.

performance

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, AnTuTu 2.78MThe latest Snapdragon runs most demanding games (Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail) at high settings; the score sits near the top for 2026 flagships.

battery

6000mAh, around 1 day with moderate useWith typical mid-range screen-on time, you will likely need to charge every evening; moderate to light users may stretch to 1.5 days.

durability

IP68/IP69, 6m immersion for 30 minThe phone survives high-pressure water jets and submersion up to 6 meters, so accidental pool drops or heavy rain causes no panic.

charging

50W wireless charging onlyNo wired option; 50W wireless recharges the full 6000mAh in roughly 60 to 90 minutes from zero, requiring a compatible pad.

storage

GoSolo Verdict

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is a large, heavy flagship built around optics: its 200MP periscope zoom with continuous 3.2–4.3x mechanical range and 3500-nit display are genuinely useful for photographers and field workers, but the phone feels overbuilt for most users, costs £1,099 locally, and charges only wirelessly at 50W—adequate but not fast by 2026 standards.

Strengths · 4

200MP periscope telephoto with 3.2–4.3x continuous optical zoom captures distant subjects without the softness of digital zoom, a real tool rather than a number.
3500-nit peak brightness on LTPO AMOLED stays usable even in direct sunlight, with 120Hz refresh that feels smooth without the battery penalty older flagships paid.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 16GB RAM handle demanding apps and games at high settings; the 2.78M AnTuTu score is flagship-class for early 2026.
6m/30min IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance plus aerospace-grade glass means the phone survives field work, pool slides, and heavy rain without fuss.

Trade-offs · 3

No wired charging; the 50W wireless-only setup takes 60–90 minutes from zero, frustrating if you are away from a pad or in a rush.
218–223g weight and 8.3mm thickness are noticeable; this is a hand-filling brick compared to rivals, and the size (162.9 x 77.6mm) skews toward unwieldy one-handed use.
£1,099 / €1,249 is the upper end of flagship pricing with no meaningful advantage for casual users—the zoom and brightness matter only if you shoot stills or work outdoors.
