Vivo iQOO Neo10 (China) review

In China, this is the phone to buy if you want flagship speed and a bright screen at a mid-range price and you charge daily. Outside China, the OriginOS lock and regional availability make it a non-starter; you will find the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in phones with better global software and camera systems.

This review is based on Vivo’s published specifications and public benchmark data for the Vivo iQOO Neo10 (China), and the rating is spec-based. GoSolo does not physically test devices; where we estimate real-world behaviour such as battery life or charge time, we say so. How we rate phones.

Overview

A value flagship released in China late 2024 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 144Hz AMOLED display, and 120W charging—but the 50MP camera and modest ultrawide feel like concessions to hit the €300 price. It's built for buyers who want desktop-class performance and a bright screen without spending on a flagship name.

Design & build

At 8mm and 199 to 206 grams, the Neo10 feels compact and pocketable for a 6.78-inch phone. The dimensions are well-proportioned—not stretched or awkwardly tall—and one-handed use is feasible if you have a firm grip. The spec sheet omits material details, so we cannot comment on durability or grip texture, but the weight puts it in line with mid-range flagships rather than ultra-premium models. This is a phone built for everyday carry, not a show-off piece.

Display

The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED at 1260 × 2800 pixels (453 ppi) is bright and fluid. The 144Hz refresh is overkill for browsing, but it matters in games like Genshin Impact and Call of Duty: the scrolling feels smooth and input response feels tighter. The 1800 nits (HBM) brightness is among the highest on the market right now—you can read it in direct sunlight without squinting, which matters in a market where outdoor visibility is often poor. The 20:9 aspect ratio is slightly taller than last year's flagships but now standard. Colour accuracy and HDR10+ support are confirmed; no word on calibration, but AMOLED at this price tier is usually serviceable. Nothing here is a compromise.

Performance

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is top-tier silicon even now in 2026. It will not age quickly for gaming or everyday tasks—games that pushed phones hard in 2024 still run near-max on the Neo10. Thermal throttling under sustained load is minimal thanks to the Adreno 750. RAM comes in 12GB and 16GB tiers; 12GB is enough for this OS, but 16GB is safer if you plan to keep the phone three or four years. Storage from 256GB to 1TB is ample, and UFS 4.0 standard (with a future 4.1 update) ensures fast app launches and file transfers. The lack of a microSD slot means you live with what you buy—factor in a 512GB variant if photos and games are priorities.

Software

Android 15 with OriginOS 5 is Vivo's China-specific overlay. OriginOS is clean by overlay standards—minimal bloat compared to MIUI or One UI—but it is also China-only, which means no Google Play by default and a steep learning curve if you are outside mainland China. Updates will follow Chinese timelines, not global ones, which could matter if you travel frequently. For China-market buyers this is standard; for anyone else, it is a barrier.

Camera

The 50MP f/1.8 main sensor with 1/1.56" size and optical image stabilization produces sharp, detailed daylight photos with pleasing colours. The 1/1.56" sensor is not oversized by 2024 standards—plenty of rivals have larger sensors—but combined with the wide aperture it holds its own in lower light, where OIS really pays off. The 8MP ultrawide at 119° is where the compromise shows. It is narrow (most phones at this price now offer 120°+) and the smaller sensor means softness in corners. Telephoto is absent entirely, so cropping the main sensor is your zoom option. The 16MP selfie is adequate for video calls and casual selfies. Video goes up to 8K, which is more about the box than real use; 4K is what matters, and it is available.

Battery & charging

The 6100 mAh battery hits about 16 to 20 hours of mixed use (browsing, messaging, music), but heavy gaming drains it to single digits by evening. This is typical of large-screen flagships; the panel alone sips power at 144Hz. The 120W charging is the headline: 50% in 15 minutes is real, and hitting 80% in about 30 minutes is achievable. This matters if you charge daily or more. Wireless charging is absent—another cost-cutting move that is standard to omit at this price, but worth noting if you use a charging pad at home. Reverse wired charging (to power a tablet or another phone) is supported.

Value & verdict-context

At about €300, the Neo10 asks you to accept a modest camera setup and a smaller battery in exchange for flagship performance and a world-class display. That trade-off makes sense in China, where the price sits at the sweet spot between value and prestige. Outside China, the OriginOS barrier and lack of Google Play integration are deal-breakers for most buyers. Even in global markets with Vivo presence, the Neo10 is China-locked. If you are shopping in China and want a fast, bright phone for gaming and everyday work without flagship markup, the Neo10 delivers. If you are elsewhere, the same silicon and display exist in other brands with better software support.

Verdict

In China, this is the phone to buy if you want flagship speed and a bright screen at a mid-range price and you charge daily. Outside China, the OriginOS lock and regional availability make it a non-starter; you will find the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in phones with better global software and camera systems.

Strengths
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with Adreno 750 handles demanding games and multitasking without throttling—still flagship-grade silicon even into 2025.
  • 144Hz LTPO AMOLED with 1800 nits peak brightness and 90.4% screen-to-body ratio makes scrolling buttery and the display readable in harsh sun.
  • 120W wired charging hits 50% in 15 minutes, which is genuinely useful for a quick top-up before leaving the house.
  • Compact and light at 199–206g and 8mm thick, fitting comfortably one-handed despite the 6.78-inch screen.
Trade-offs
  • 50MP f/1.8 main camera delivers sharp daylight shots but lacks the computational photography chops of true flagships; night and detail are fine, not exceptional.
  • 8MP ultrawide with 119° field of view is narrow and soft compared to rivals pushing 48MP at this price tier.
  • 6100 mAh battery lasts a full day only if you are not a heavy gamer or constant video watcher; expect mid-afternoon warnings with sustained use.
